Pace Live is pleased to present a conversation between Trevor Paglen and Dr. Omar Kholeif, a leading figure in the world of networked culture.

Taking place on May 13 amid Paglen's exhibition You’ve Just Been Fucked by PSYOPS at Pace Gallery in New York, the event coincides with the publication of Kholeif’s new book, Internet_Art: From the Birth of the Web to the Rise of NFTs (Phaidon).

On view from May 12 to July 22, Paglen’s solo show examines the enduring effects of military and CIA influence operations on American culture. The presentation is part of a multifaceted new project by the artist that also includes a Web3 project and related “speculative reality work.”

Set to be released on April 26, Internet_Art traces the ways in which this mass medium has fostered new possibilities for artists, both analog and digital. The live discussion between Paglen and Kholeif will be followed by a book signing for Internet_Art.

Internet_Art showcases work spanning a range of media from legendary artists including Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Lynn Hershman Leeson, Nam June Paik, Heather Phillipson, and Wu Tsang. Tracing the key artists and innovators from the emergence of browser-based art to the dawn of NFTs, this is a tale for the present and the future. It will be published by Phaidon on April 26.

Trevor Paglen is known for investigating the invisible through the visible, with a wide-reaching approach that spans image making, sculpture, investigative journalism, writing, engineering, and numerous other disciplines.
