Watch "Undulate," A Performance by the Marcia Milhazes Dance Company

Our latest film captures a Pace Live performance orchestrated last fall in relation to the hanging sculpture Gamboa III, as featured in Beatriz Milhazes: Mistura Sagrada at our New York gallery. This collaborative and responsive performance work by choreographer Marcia Milhazes, the artist’s sister, features a solo dancer—Domenico Salvatore—with Brazilian modernist music performed by pianist Yuka Shimizu. Marcia Milhazes’s choreography animates Gamboa III, bringing to life, in her words, “a unique and distinct system of concrete forms that will enunciate a non-verbal, poetic, organic world.”
