The Intimacies of Drawing Joan Jonas and Adam Pendleton in Conversation Published Friday, May 23, 2025 Here, artists and longtime friends Joan Jonas and Adam Pendleton sit down to discuss the ways that drawing functions in Jonas's practice. Complementing our presentation of Jonas's drawings—curated by Pendleton—in Tokyo, this film offers a closer look at the bodies of work in the exhibition, including drawings created by Jonas as part of performance and others made in her studio. "This show asks the audience to focus on the intimacy and possibilities of each individual work," Pendleton says of the drawings he selected for the show. "I think of them in relation to some of the great drawers of the last 100 or 200 years."
