Amelia Redgrift Joins Pace Gallery

Senior Director, Global Communications & Content

Oct 29, 2019

Pace Gallery is pleased to announce the appointment of Amelia Redgrift as Senior Director, Global Communications & Content. In this newly created position, Redgrift will work closely with President & CEO Marc Glimcher and the senior leadership team at Pace to further the gallery’s mission to build on its role as a vital force within the art world. Redgrift joins the gallery in early November 2019 and is based in New York.

As Senior Director, Global Communications & Content, Redgrift will oversee international communications for the gallery and its artists, and will manage Pace’s in-house PR and marketing teams across the US, Europe, and Asia. Additionally, she will work alongside the gallery’s growing curatorial department to develop a comprehensive, multi-channeled program of compelling editorial content in support of Pace’s strong roster of modern and contemporary artists, which includes the recent additions of John Gerrard, Sam Gilliam, Lynda Benglis, and Jo Baer.

Redgrift will devise communications strategies and targeted publicity campaigns to unify Pace’s worldwide activities, with a focus on developing new audiences in territories where the gallery is active. Alongside the recently launched global headquarters at 540 West 25th Street in New York, Pace operates galleries in Palo Alto, London, Geneva, Hong Kong, and Seoul. As well as promoting deeper engagement with Pace’s exhibition program, publishing imprint, art fair presentations, and special projects, Redgrift will take a central role in building awareness of new initiatives such as the recently announced Pace Live, an ambitious performing arts program designed to engage new and ever more diverse communities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Amelia to the team at Pace,” says Glimcher. “We are impressed with her track record as an excellent communications professional, talented brand-builder, and content strategist. We look forward to applying her skills in the service of our artists, and revealing the powerful stories they have to tell. As we continue to develop innovative new ways of presenting art, we recognize that our brand is growing fast in scale and complexity. Amelia exhibits an innate understanding of the Pace ethos. Together we will craft a series of relevant and creative new approaches to fulfill our mission to redefine the gallery’s role in the 21st century, and to target broader public audiences for contemporary art.”

“I am incredibly excited by what lies ahead at Pace. Over the past 60 years, Arne Glimcher has established a strong legacy for the gallery and its artists. Under Marc’s leadership, Pace’s extraordinary team is embracing the possibilities for how a gallery can radically adapt within the changing art ecosystem, while simultaneously honoring the gallery’s history and keeping art at its core. I look forward to being a part of this next chapter.”

Redgrift joins Pace from Hauser & Wirth, where she has been responsible for strategic international communications and brand guardianship for the past six years; spending four years in London and the last two years in New York. During her tenure, Redgrift delivered successful publicity and marketing campaigns for flagship projects across Europe, Asia and the US, including significant business expansion into China and the launch of new gallery spaces in Somerset, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and St. Moritz. She launched and edited the gallery’s first magazine, “Volume,” produced special art fair publications, and devised an editorial content strategy that encompassed a website redevelopment and robust film production program.

Redgrift has previously served in various communications roles within commercial and non-profit arts organizations in London, including Waddington Custot Galleries. Redgrift graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London and Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.
