Films Mika Tajima on "Energetics," Her Latest Exhibition in New York Published Thursday, Jan 25, 2024 In our new film, artist Mika Tajima discusses the sensorial aspects of her immersive exhibition Energetics, on view at our New York gallery through February 24. Taking us on a journey through the works in the show—which include large-scale textile paintings, sculptures, and an ambient olfactory element—Tajima speaks about her explorations of what it means to be an individual amid the inexorable rise of technology and big data. "Our identities are not fixed data points, and everybody is transforming and changing over time," she says. "I'm really thinking about that experience of being a blip in this long continuum of geological time and in the age we are currently living in."
