Kylie Manning on "From You Within Me"

Premiering on Thursday, May 4 at the New York City Ballet's Spring Gala, director and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon's newest work—titled From You Within Me—will feature visual designs by Kylie Manning. Set to Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, the ballet will include costumes and large-scale backdrops by the artist.

In a film we produced on the occasion of the project, we take you behind the scenes at the New York City Ballet to hear Manning describe her process for creating the costumes and backdrops in Christopher Wheeldon's ballet, highlighting the parallels between pregnancy and art-making.
