JR is the first artist to be invited to the renovated Carré Sainte-Anne from June 27 to December 7, 2025

Born in Paris in 1983, JR began his career as a graffiti artist before rising to fame thanks to his photographic collage technique, exhibited in public spaces around the world. His monumental installations share a common mission: to amplify the voices of ordinary people and spark dialogue.

As part of JR’s Adventice exhibition, the city of Montpellier is inviting Montpellier residents to participate in the creation of a collective work of art. Part of the work will be made up of printed hands of visitors.
