Robert Longo Brings 'The Weight of Hope' to New York

This new film documents the opening of The Weight of Hope—artist Robert Longo's monumental exhibition of drawings, films, sculptures, and studies at our New York gallery—which included a live rock performance by Rhys Chatham, Ernie Brooks, Knox Chandler, Marc Glimcher, Karen Haglof, Jonathan Kane, Jon Kessler, Thomas Lail, and Longo himself. Here, footage of the performance and commentary from the artist, these performers, and the Milwaukee Art Museum’s Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Margaret Andera, sheds new light on music's role in Longo's life and his practice.
