火⾆ (Tongues of Flare)

Li Hei Di’s playlist drifts through lush, cinematic soundscapes, where romance and memory intertwine. Timeless, groovy, and emotionally resonant, this eclectic mix, which accompanies their current exhibition of the same name on view at Pace in Hong Kong through August 29, feels like flipping through faded photographs — familiar, vivid, and just a little surreal.

Coisa Linda

Coisa Linda features the poetic sounds and rhythms of some of the finest Brazilian songwriters of the past century. Eponymous with Milhazes’ 2002 hand-printed artist book, the playlist originally featured 12 songs that inspired the artist’s drawings and propose an optical movement reflective of Brazilian culture. Coisa Linda is intended to engage the senses while exploring the connection between music and images: “Milhazes’s exuberant abstractions respond to a range of musical sources, from words and phrases of the songs featured in the book to more general sights and sounds of the streets and samba schools of Rio de Janeiro.”
