Films Motion Pictures: In the Studio with Lauren Quin Published Thursday, Jan 29, 2026 Los Angeles-based artist Lauren Quin is known for her kaleidoscopic abstractions that employ bold forms rendered in a complex chromatic palette to orchestrate atmospheres alive with movement and depth. Drawing from the history of art as well as her own lexicon of symbols developed over time, Quin uses a range of methods—both adding and subtracting paint—to complete her intuitive and considered compositions.Produced on the occasion of Eyelets of Alkaline, her first solo show with Pace since joining the gallery in 2025, this film follows Quin in her studio, where she is joined by Pace Founder and Chairman Arne Glimcher for a conversation about her work, its wide-ranging frame of reference, and the memorable impressions it creates.
