Leo Villareal

On view through the 2019 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, Leo Villareal’s large-scale LED sculpture Optical Machine I is presented at The Edition in Miami Beach in collaboration with Ballroom Marfa.

Founded in 2003 by Virginia Lebermann and Fairfax Dorn, (opens in a new window) Ballroom Marfa is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and a dynamic, contemporary cultural arts space where varied perspectives and issues are explored through visual arts, film, music, and performance.

On view through the duration of the 2019 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, the installation at The Edition runs parallel to Villareal's first solo-exhibition of works at Pace Gallery in London, on view through January 18, 2020, and the recent launch of Illuminated River, the artist’s most recent major public artwork, which, upon completion, will illuminate 14 bridges along the Thames.
