The artist’s first solo exhibition in Taiwan, the presentation features a number of works created by the artist throughout his career. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. The exhibition was organized by the General Association of Chinese Culture to honor this occasion as part of a series of activities promoting friendship between Taiwan and Japan. The earthquake in 2011 greatly affected Nara’s worldview and impacted the work he made after that time, making the presentation at Kuandu a personally meaningful one for the artist.Nara’s exhibition at Kuandu has since prompted two additional presentations of his work opening at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in July and the Tainan Art Museum in November. To learn more, visit Kuandu Museum's website.
