Artist Projects Lee Ufan & Kohei Nawa in Setouchi Triennale We're thrilled to congratulate Lee Ufan and Kohei Nawa for their inclusion in the 2019 edition of the Setouchi Triennale. Staged across the region of the Seto Inland Sea in Japan, the exhibition will be presented in three parts: Spring Encounters (April 26 – May 26), Summer Gatherings (July 19 – August 25), and Fall Expansions (September 28 – November 4). Titled Restoration of the Sea, the exhibition aims to revitalize the island communities that once thrived in this beautiful natural environment and to transform the region into a Sea of Hope. For the previous edition of the Triennale, Kohei Nawa presented Biota (Fauna/Flora) in the Inujima Art House Project. Now, three years later, Fauna is growing, demonstrating how new life metamorphoses over long periods of time.Meanwhile, a solo exhibition of works by Lee Ufan will be presented at the Naoshima Benesse House. Highlights will include sculptural works such as Correspondence Place, and Encounter Room, a survey of the artist's paintings and sculptures from the 1970s through to the present.
