Artists on Artists: Maysha Mohamedi x Alfred Jensen

In our latest Artists on Artists film, Maysha Mohamedi invites us to see Alfred Jensen's work through her eyes at 125 Newbury in New York, where Alfred Jensen: Diagrammatic Mysteries is on view through Saturday, February 28. Mohamedi will open Maysha the Fool, a solo exhibition of new paintings, at our 540 West 25th Street gallery on March 10. Her works are as much divinations as they are paintings, synchronizing fables and modes of worship from different traditions to uncover truths that are at once universal and deeply personal. Here, she speaks about Jensen's interests in color theory and numerology and his quest for answers through abstraction: "How rare is it to discover somebody's secret, or just to know that there's a secret there that you'll never know the answer to?"
