Artforum: Under the Cover

Lucas Samaras is featured on the cover of the January / February 2021 issue of Artforum. He is the first artist to have been granted four cover features for the magazine. In celebration of this achievement, we're pleased to present an online exhibition featuring a series of photographs—tangential to the body of work presented in Artforum—that Samaras took during walks through his Midtown Manhattan neighborhood, and subsequently subjected to a series of digital manipulations that reflect his protean imagination.
