Organized in celebration of the artist’s 50-year career, this solo exhibition brings together key historical archives—including early performance videos, photographs, and working notes from the mid-1970s—alongside paintings. Centering on Lee’s decades long inquiries into “the body and logic,” the exhibition reexamines the significance of his work within the broader development of Korean avant-garde art. Attendance to this event is free and open to the public. Read More Lee Kun-YongLee Kun-Yong is known for his performances that reimagine the ways that the body and its movements can be understood across time. Lee cultivated his highly experimental practice during the 1970s, when martial law and authoritarianism presented a major affront to civil rights and freedom of expression in South Korea. His work spans and investigates relationships between performance, painting, sculpture, and installation. Lee is considered a key figure of the AG (Korean Avant-Garde Association) as well as a founding member of the ST (Space & Time) group.Learn More On View Lee Kun-Yong Body as Thought Feb 5 – Mar 28, 2026 Seoul Journal View All Films Lee Kun-Yong: Striking a Match Feb 15, 2026 Artist Projects The Lawrence Weiner Estate Unveils New Collaboration with Ceramicist Heami Lee Aug 07, 2025 Films James Turrell's Art of Opulence and Light Jun 26, 2025 Films Sam Gilliam and Kenneth Noland: Celebrating Color Apr 28, 2025 Pace Live — Lee Kun-Yong: Body as Thought, Feb 5, 2026
