Supporting Los Angeles Wildfire Relief Efforts

Published Thursday, Jan 23, 2025

In response to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, Pace has made a contribution to the (opens in a new window) Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation in support of their efforts to assist artists. For over 40 years the Gottlieb Foundation, through its Emergency Grant Program, has provided grants of up to $15,000 to mid-career and older individual painters, sculptors, and printmakers whose needs are the result of an unforeseen catastrophic event. Having represented Adolph Gottlieb for over two decades, Pace has long admired and supported the Foundation’s important work in this area and has centered their program in its relief efforts by making a financial contribution to assist in getting funds to artists.

The gallery has also joined several peers in contributing to the (opens in a new window) LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund, a coalition of arts organizations and philanthropists—led by the Getty and including LACMA, MoCA, and the Hammer—providing emergency relief for artists and arts workers who have been impacted by the fires.

In addition to these contributions, Pace has launched an internal Fire Relief Subcommittee, committing funds towards grassroots in-gallery programming covering both urgent efforts in the immediate-term and longer-term programs to provide for the community local to the LA gallery.

Marc Glimcher, CEO of Pace Gallery, says:

“While we hope for a swift end to the tragic events of the past several weeks, we are conscious that the recovery will be slow and that the aftermath of the fires will impact the community for some time. Our thoughts remain with our artists and team in Los Angeles and our family, friends, and colleagues there.”
