Pace Playlists

Alicja Kwade's taste in music is as eclectic and experimental as her artwork, including selections from classic underground darlings like The Velvet Underground and Kate Bush to boundary pushing icons David Bowie and Billie Eilish.

With deep roots in the industry, two of the bands on Kwade's playlist, Yaneq and PAAR, are from her record label, (opens in a new window) Grzegorzki Records, which she co-directs with her partner Gregor Hildebrandt. The other bands from the label are Die Hecktischen Flecken, Anne, Chris Succo, Susanne Blech, Raftside, Walking Down Brenton Road, Stabat Kater, Hot Dog, and Van Urrgh.

Familial ties make an appearance on the playlist as well: London-based recording artist Rosin will perform at Sound in the Garden for the unveiling of Kwade's permanent sculptural installation later this summer at Neue National Galerie in Berlin.
