James Turrell, Robert Rauschenberg, and Sol LeWitt at MASS MoCA

On the occasion of the opening of the newly renovated Building 6, MASS MoCA has installed a number of long-term exhibitions featuring Pace artists James Turrell, Robert Rauschenberg, and Sol LeWitt.

James Turrell: Into the Light presents 9 works from the artist's multi-decade career which illustrate Turrell's skill in elevating the viewer's perception of light and space.

Robert Rauschenberg's A Quake in Parade (Labyrinth) is a large-scale installation from 1994, through which the viewer moves and interacts with the artist's signature mechanized imagery. Alongside the installation is the artist's 1981 sculpture, The Lurid Attack of the Monsters from the Postal News Aug 1875.

Sol LeWitt: Structures presents the artist's 3-dimensional works which demonstrate his interest in seriality. The sculptures are shown in conjunction with LeWitt's A Drawing Retrospective, which presents LeWitt's wall drawings on nearly an acre of site-specific walls and will remain on view through 2033.

James Turrell: Into the Light, Robert Rauschenberg's A Quake in Parade (Labyrinth), and Sol LeWitt: Structures are all currently on long-term view at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts. For more information, visit the museum's (opens in a new window) website
