News Fred Wilson to Receive Brandeis's 2019 Creative Arts Award Pace Gallery congratulates Fred Wilson on his selection as the 2019 recipient of Brandeis University’s Creative Arts Award. Launched in 1956, the Brandeis Creative Arts Award has been presented to scores of the most distinguished artists, art scholars, dancers, filmmakers, theater performers and writers of the 20th century. The award comes with a residency on campus during which the artist will engage with students, faculty and the Brandeis community.Ron Liebowitz, President of Brandeis University states, “For nearly four decades, Fred Wilson has challenged traditional views of art, of the museum itself, and of people who were on the periphery but seldom the subject of traditional European-influenced works.
