Our new film centers on [action=query]: Black Arts and Black Aesthetics, an exhibition in the library of our New York gallery organized by Kristen Joy Owens, the inaugural Wikimedia Fellow with Pace and the nonprofit Black Lunch Table. Featuring commentary from Owens, scholar Howard Rambsy II, Black Art Library Founder Asmaa Walton, and our Culture and Equity Program Manager Jumoke McDuffie-Thurmond, this film explores the underpinnings of Owens's interdisciplinary research and her new bibliographic project inspired by histories of resource sharing. [action=query]: Black Arts and Black Aesthetics, which functions as a reading room where visitors can engage with publications focused on Black art and visual culture, is on view through February 25.
