Discovering the Unexpected with Robert Nava

In this new film, Robert Nava speaks about the new works in his first major exhibition at our New York gallery, After Hours, on view through April 26. Inside his Brooklyn studio, Nava discusses how his visual language of fantastical creatures and characters has evolved over time through "combinations and subtractions of different mythological forms," as he puts it. The artist also sheds light on his intuitive painting process, reveling in moments of "being on the ledge of something very familiar or right around the corner from something very unknown."
