BAM Commissions New Site-Specific Installations by Leo Villareal

Featured in The New York Times

The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) has commissioned two new site-specific installations by Leo Villareal as part of the BAM Robert W. Wilson Public Art Initiative.

The new works will adorn buildings near the BAM's Peter Jay Sharp Building, where Villareal's LED installation Stars has been displayed since 2007. Around the corner, Light Matrix will fill the third-story windows of BAM Fisher, the organization’s performance and community space. And Volume (BAM), a mirrored LED sculpture, will hang at BAM Karen, a new cultural space that is planned for a 32-story tower across the street.
