Krzysztof Grzybacz, Torso, 2026 © Krzysztof Grzybacz Krzysztof Grzybacz Haruspex Upcoming Sep 3 – Oct 3, 2026 London Pace will present Haruspex, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Kraków-based artist Krzysztof Grzybacz, at its London gallery beginning September 3, 2026. Marking the artist's first solo exhibition in the UK, the presentation will feature new work that explores the body as a construct, how it holds memories of past selves, and how those selves remain visible as we age.Known for his exploration of the relationship between everyday objects, the human body, and nature, Grzybacz shifts his focus in Haruspex to the body as a site where memory, instinct, and lived experience accumulate in layers. Drawing together studio sketches and fragments of thought and the subconscious, he creates paintings that stand alone rather than forming a linear narrative. Throughout the exhibition, subtle references to the artist's earlier series appear in the form of hidden flowers woven into painted textiles, while nature continues to emerge as a counterpoint to urban life, sometimes directly and sometimes through patterns or traces that restore a relationship he feels is slipping away.Grzybacz's instinctive color palette is informed by his interest in the scientific theory that the evolution of color in plants has in turn influenced the evolution of color perception in animals and humans. At the same time, color functions as a direct reference to queer identity. Though the artist does not consider these works to be self-portraits, they often reveal autobiographical elements in hindsight. The exhibition comprises approximately ten new paintings, including the artist's largest single-surface painting to date.
