They met hunters and activists, teachers and police officers, parents and children. JR photographed 245 people to create a mural for the cover of TIME, giving a face to the full and complex spectrum of views on guns in America. The coinciding video mural captured each person included in the project. After filming each interviewee, the artist then created a composite, animated film capturing the collective group as a whole. Following the showing at Pace, the mural will travel to additional venues around the country and is available to the public through an (opens in a new window) interactive website, where people can further explore each person’s interview and engage in a nation-wide dialogue.
