Pace Live is pleased to present an artist talk as part of Nigel Cooke’s exhibition Sea Mirror, on view at Pace in Seoul from April 11 to May 17.

In this talk taking place on April 10 amid his presentation of new paintings at the gallery, Cooke will discuss his oeuvre, the works on view in his show, and his engagement with a diverse range of subjects—including literature, paleontology, neuroscience, mythology, and zoology—as part of his approach to painting.

Cooke is a British painter whose practice is driven by philosophical examinations of history, nature, and the human condition. His intuitive process is often guided by his experiences in different parts of the world and other autobiographical material, and his works can be found in major collections and institutions around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, Tate in London, the Pinault Collection in Paris, the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and the Long Museum in Shanghai.

Sea Mirror, which showcases works created by the artist in 2024 and 2025, will be accompanied by a new catalogue from Pace Publishing.
