Pace Welcomes Sarah Levine as Senior Director

Published Thursday, Aug 24, 2023

Pace is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Levine as a Senior Director, based in New York. Working with the gallery’s global locations, Levine will be part of a team that develops strategic initiatives across Pace’s Communications, Curatorial, and Artist Management streams to support its artists and public engagement with its projects. The creation of Levine’s position reinforces Pace’s long-held commitment to addressing the individualized goals of its artists. She joins Pace from Lehmann Maupin, where she has served as Global Director of Marketing and Communications with oversight of the gallery’s activities across Europe, Asia, and the US.

Levine’s specialized knowledge of public relations and strategic communications will enrich her work supporting artists at Pace. She will bring her expertise in these areas to the gallery’s in-house curatorial team, with whom she’ll work closely to identify and secure new public-facing opportunities for artists. This will involve institutions, press, partnerships, and global audiences.

Levine will also be an important voice on Pace’s Communications team, working alongside Chief Communications Officer Amelia Redgrift to bolster the gallery’s global marketing efforts and amplify the messaging for its exhibitions and projects. She will engage her in-depth network of curators, writers, and editors to realize the gallery’s goals and ensure artists’ visions for their exhibitions and, more broadly, their careers are achieved through creative and thoughtful efforts.

Prior to her tenure as Global Director of Marketing and Communications of Lehmann Maupin, Levine served as the Associate Director of Brand for the gallery. Her previous experience also includes working as Assistant Director at the arts and culture agency, FITZ & CO, and as an independent experiential marketing and creative partnerships consultant in New York.

Sarah Levine states:

“Pace’s history and artist program are unique. The vision of the gallery’s artists is at the center of everything the gallery does. Marc and Samanthe have ambitious goals for the future yet remain dedicated to the gallery’s identity as a place that supports radical ideas and innovative practices. I’m excited to build relationships with the artists in the program and find new ways to support their work. I look forward to being a part of Pace’s future.”

Samanthe Rubell, President of Pace Gallery, says:

“Sarah has a nuanced understanding of the needs of artists in today’s art world and has established a robust and impressive international network of relationships. As Senior Director, Sarah will work closely with Marc Glimcher, myself, and the gallery’s senior leadership team to bring our artists’ ambitions to life. I’m excited to see how her expertise will add new dimensions to our work. We look forward to welcoming her to the gallery later this month.”

Levine will begin her new role with Pace on August 24.
