Pace is pleased to present a solo exhibition of new and recent work by Kiki Smith at its East Hampton gallery.

On view from August 4 to 14, the show will include sculptures, works on paper, and prints, spotlighting Smith’s multidisciplinary practice and her explorations of the tensions between heaviness and fragility as well as stability and ephemerality. This presentation will mark Smith’s twentieth solo exhibition with Pace, which has represented her since 1994.

Featuring large-scale bronze Sungrazer sculptures, meditative drawings of raindrops, cyanotypes depicting semi-abstracted climatic phenomena, and more, the exhibition focuses on the wonders of the natural world, presented through a playful and whimsical lens. Other works in the show include the bronze cat sculpture Minou (2021), the bronze owl sculpture Sentry (2020), and a selection of etchings and photopolymer prints. This East Hampton presentation showcases Smith’s longstanding interest in narratives, symbols, and wide-ranging histories of visual culture.

Later this year, Smith will open solo exhibitions at the Albuquerque Museum in New Mexico and the Seoul Museum of Art.
