"Hockney – Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature" opens at the Van Gogh Museum

Hockney - Van Gogh: The Joy of Nature
March 1 – May 26, 2019
Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam

The world-famous art of David Hockney (1937) is colorful and colossal. Similar to Vincent Van Gogh, Hockney finds inspiration in nature, making use of bright colors and experimenting with perspective. The resemblances between the two artists are no coincidence — Van Gogh's work has been a great source of inspiration for Hockney throughout his career.

The first exhibition of its kind, The Joy of Nature places Van Gogh's masterpieces alongside landmark works by Hockney, offering an extensive and colorful exploration of the common ground between these two world-renowned artists.
