Pace Gallery at Art Basel Miami Beach 2018

Art Basel Miami Beach 2018
Pace Gallery, Booth D8
Miami Beach Convention Center
December 6 – 9, 2018

For the 2018 edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, Pace Gallery will present  (opens in a new window) Lightness of Being — an exhibition dedicated to West Coast artists of the Light and Space and Finish Fetish movements, who emerged in Southern California in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Featuring works by Pace artists such as Robert Irwin, James Turrell, and Mary Corse, as well as pieces by seminal artists including Peter Alexander, Larry Bell, Craig Kauffman, John McCracken, and Doug Wheeler, the presentation highlights these artists' unrelenting and profound fascination with the phenomenological properties of light, space, and material.

Additionally, to coincide with the 35th anniversary of Surrounded Islands (Project for Biscayne Bay, Greater Miami, Florida), 1980-83 by renowned artist Christo, Pace will exhibit a selection of preparatory collages and drawings that Christo made between 1981 and 1983 throughout the development of the monumental project as part of a (opens in a new window) new partnership with the artist.
