Announcing Representation of William Monk

Pace Gallery is pleased to announce its representation of painter William Monk. Pace will feature the artist’s work for the first time this week in its booth at Frieze London (B4) and will present his first solo exhibition at its gallery in London, on view from March 6 – April 12, 2019. Pace’s representation of the UK-born, Brooklyn-based artist is joint with GRIMM, which has spaces in Amsterdam and New York.

“William Monk is an artist who is elevating the power and advancing the boundaries of painting,” said Marc Glimcher, Pace Gallery President and CEO. “His paintings fuse and evolve the histories of landscape and abstraction, fostering a whole new language of spatial understanding and recognition. We’re thrilled to welcome William to Pace.”

Underscoring the broad, international nature of Pace’s contemporary program, the gallery’s exhibition at Frieze London will include new and recent works by artists from around the world. Major highlights will be two new oil-on-canvas paintings by Monk, including Three Clouds, 2018, which spans over 8.5 ft high by 7.5 ft wide.
