Pace Welcomes Andria Hickey

Senior Director and Curator

Pace is pleased to announce that Andria Hickey, currently Senior Curator at MOCA Cleveland, will join the gallery as the new Senior Director and Curator in September 2018. Working collaboratively with Pace’s international leadership team, directed by President and CEO Marc Glimcher, Hickey will help to shape the gallery’s dynamic worldwide exhibition program. Approaching the program both within and beyond the gallery’s exhibition spaces, Hickey will advance the appreciation and engagement with the major twentieth and twenty-first century artists and estates represented by Pace.

“Over the last ten years, Pace has expanded its presence across the world,” said Glimcher, “both through new gallery spaces in cities like Palo Alto, Geneva, and Seoul, as well as major art fairs and biennials from Hong Kong to London to Mexico City. As we’ve grown, we’ve learned how vital it is that in each and every community Pace engages with, we share the unparalleled level of artistic innovation and superior quality that has distinguished Pace since its founding nearly 60 years ago. We are thrilled to have Andria join Pace to continue to advance a global program grounded in ambition and inspiration. She brings with her an invaluable depth of experience and passion for working collaboratively with artists, curators, and institutions to realize exhibitions and public art projects that have provoked new thinking on the art of the twentieth century, as well as shined a spotlight on artists at the vanguard. We celebrate this curatorial approach at Pace and look forward to welcoming Andria to the family.”

“I admire the depth and rigor of Pace's exceptional program and I am inspired by the artists they have nurtured and supported throughout the years,” said Andria Hickey. “I've worked in many different kinds of art institutions, from collecting museums to artist-run spaces, and as a curator I've striven for new and meaningful ways to both support and collaborate with artists. I am inspired by Pace’s remarkable legacy and excited to play a role in the gallery’s innovative approach to the ever-changing landscape of today's art world. It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to advancing the gallery’s global curatorial vision, together with Marc and the leadership team.”
