A Tuscan Marble Studio Honors Bygone Traditions: Kevin Francis Gray in WSJ Magazine

In anticipation of his exhibition at Pace Gallery in New York, Kevin Francis Gray has been profiled by the Wall Street Journal Magazine. Alice Cavanagh writes about Kevin's work with the Giannoni family marble workshop in Pietrasanta, Italy, one of the most well-regarded marble workshops known for their continued commitment to traditional processes and techniques. Though highly selective in their decisions to work with contemporary artists, the workshop's owner Marco Gionanni recalls seeing Ghost Girl (2007) and feeling compelled to work with Gray: "Just seeing her in resin gave me a shock and immediately moved me. She was such a strong work: timely and provocative and evocative."

Seven new marble works produced by Kevin Francis Gray at the Giannoni family workshop will be included in his upcoming Pace Gallery exhibition. To read the full article, click here.
