Louise Nevelson's outdoor sculpture Maquette for Transparent Horizon (1972-73) is now on view on Lake Geneva, in Switzerland. As part of artgenève/sculptures, a program which places sculptures in the Geneva's public spaces, Maquette for Transparent Horizon is installed on Quai Wilson, next to Lake Geneva. Louise Nevelson is the subject of a solo exhibition at the Moderna Museet opening September 9, 2017. This exhibition looks at the trajectory of Nevelson's expansive artistic career, examining closely her large-scale sculptures as connected to her practice in collage. From all matte-black wooden sculptures to collages composed with newspaper clippings, Nevelson's work was rooted in the "poetic observations of the overlooked objects."
