After a visit to Tara Donovan’s studio, Scott Indrisek writes that her “no-nonsense ingenuity is something to celebrate.” Indrisek explores the development of Donovan’s Slinky works, which are currently on view at the Parrish Art Museum and heading to Jupiter Art Land in Edinburgh, Scotland, in August.
Why Slinkys? “I don’t really have personal connections to the materials I choose,” Tara Donovan said, “it’s more about their physical properties and what possibilities I can exploit in them.
Platform: Tara Donovan is on view at the Parrish Art Museum through October 12.
