Li Songsong’s solo exhibition at the Bologna Museum of Modern Art (MAMbo), Italy

On 21 May afternoon (Italy local time), the opening of the Chinese artist Li Songsong was a great success, and a talk with the artist was held that day.

This solo exhibition of Li Songsong will include more than 30 works of the artist made since 2001, including several pieces of the important collectors in private collection, such as the famous German collector Sammlung Goetz and the famous Swiss collector Uli Sigg.

Li Songsong’s works mostly based on old photographs, with his unique brushstroke and color fields to establish a distinctive painting style, and through visual representation he leads the viewer to see the historical events with different perspectives.

As the hometown of the maestro, Giorgio Morandi, Bologna has always been a city of culture and the arts in Italy. MAMbo, located in the city centre, has 90 years of history. The new museum re-opened in 2007, which has exhibited works of numerous important artists.

This exhibition will be on view through 30 August, and will continue the tour on display to Baden-Baden art gallery in Germany.
