Pace Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in the second edition of the ART 021 Contemporary Art Fair in Shanghai from November 12 to 16, 2014. Pace will present more than thirty works by a diverse group of international artists at booth 2-02.
Pace’s presentation at Art 021 will include a selection of artists whose work employs quotidian materials and images. Yin Xiuzhen and Tara Donovan incorporate commonplace items such as recycled clothing in the case of the former and pins, Mylar and paper plates in the case of the later. Paintings by Li Songsong and Mao Yan will highlight the role these two artists play as interlocutors of their generation in contemporary China. Both artists create an emotional charge from seemingly innocuous imagery in their technically rigorous and expressive oil paintings.
Pace’s booth will also include a selection of photographs by Song Dong, a pioneering performance artist in China, and New York-based Hiroshi Sugimoto. Pace will also present works by Robert Irwin, Yoshitomo Nara, Yin Xiuzhen and Zhang Huan.
