Dreams in Dust: The Pastels of Lucas Samaras

The Morgan Library & Museum presents Dreams in Dust: The Pastels of Lucas Samaras an exhibition celebrating the gift of forty-eight pastel drawings to the museum’s collection from Lucas Samaras and Pace founder, Arne Glimcher. Featuring dreamlike imagery, mystical interiors, self-portraits, nudes, and still lifes set before elaborate patterns, they are an expression of the artist’s moods and mental states throughout the first three decades of his career, from 1957 to 1983. The exhibition is on view at the Morgan Library and Museum from May 6 through August 21, 2016.
