Social Media and Community Engagement Manager

Pace Gallery seeks a Social Media & Community Engagement Manager to join our growing marketing team within the Communications & Public Engagement department. Working underneath the Marketing Director and collaborating with the wider content and marketing teams, the Social Media Manager’s primary responsibilities will be championing the Pace brand and delivering a positive, educational, and fulfilling experience for our audiences across our social channels — including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Discord, and Facebook. In addition, the Social Media Manager will aid in the development of new organic social and community engagement strategies with a focus on audience development and lifecycle.

A core member of the marketing team, the Social Media Manager will collaborate closely with various other departments in the gallery, including Sales, Public Relations, and Research & Archives in the execution of the gallery’s marketing strategies for the Pace’s exhibition and art fair program, artists’ external activity, as well as Pace Live and Pace Verso projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Maintain a continuous and forward-looking social media content calendar for activation across all social channels, aligned with the gallery’s wider editorial and content calendar
  • Select imagery, write captions, and post all content across the gallery’s channels
  • Develop new creative, social content strategies reflecting the gallery’s expansive program
  • Work closely with the Marketing Director and Marketing Managers to adapt content developed around exhibitions, art fairs, artist projects, and corporate moments for social channel-specific distribution
  • Brief designers and film editor in the creative development of creative assets for use across social channels
  • Build and maintain a channel-specific style guide for Pace’s social media presence
  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop and execute an international influencer marketing strategy.
  • In collaboration with external partners, build, maintain, and moderate a Discord server to engage web3 communities with the gallery’s Pace Verso brand and projects, including sourcing and engaging collaborators for AMAs and live events
  • Develop novel audience development initiatives leveraging the latest social tools and products
  • Develop regimented and rigorous analytics reporting tools for all social and community-based platforms
  • Create social distribution plans for Pace's homegrown film and editorial content in close collaboration with Marketing Director and content team
  • Maintain external listings for the gallery’s global program

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in art history, communications, marketing, or related field of study
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience working in communications for a commercial art gallery, auction house, museum, or related field
  • Active interest and knowledge in the contemporary art industry
  • Experience working with Google Analytics, Facebook for Business, and associated digital platforms
  • Proven social media acumen and fluency, and knowledge of leading-edge social trends and technologies
  • Knowledge and fluency within the Web3 / crypto community a plus
  • Keen eye for digital trends, emerging marketing strategies, and innate comprehension of the digital landscape
  • Uncompromising attention to detail
  • Excellent writing ability, with keen attention to punctuation and grammar

Compensation estimation for this role is $70,000-$90,000 annually.
