Pace Gallery is seeking a Production Manager to join two New York based dealer teams to implement and oversee artwork production for a group of artists at the gallery. This requires clear and effective communication, an extreme attention to detail, and a deep understanding of artwork production across all media. The Production Manager is an integral part of the Dealer team, providing production support to artists, estates, and vendors.DepartmentSalesWhat you'll be doing:Follow production from beginning to end, including finding appropriate vendors, providing specs, sourcing quotes, and shipping to/from vendorManage artwork production timelines, costs and quality controlProvide direct contact with artists, estates and vendors for all production needs: printing, mounting, framing, sourcing monitors, sourcing materials for installations, special projectsMaintain current vendor relationships and research new vendors as neededWork closely with registrar and dealer team to assess production needsLiaise with shipping department to collect and deliver work to gallery, client, museum, etc.Input and maintain inventory database recordsManage, code and submit related invoices to accounting departmentLiaise with and offer guidance as needed to artists, estates, clients, galleries, and museums regarding artwork productionWork within established production budget, taking measures to reduce costs where possible, including negotiating costs with vendorsWork closely with accounting department to approve invoices and provide documentation for auditsAdditional artwork production responsibilities as assignedWhat you'll bring:Minimum 3 years’ related experience working for an artist, fine art gallery or museumMust have proven experience with complicated artwork production and the ability to problem solveExtensive knowledge of and comfortability with artwork productionMust be extremely detailed-oriented, organized, and an effective communicatorAble to multi-task with ease and maintain composure in high stress and deadline-driven situationsExcellent computer skills, PC/Mac platforms, and strong familiarity with database programsMust possess a professional, positive work demeanor and the communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with vendors, clients, and co-workersStrong work ethic with an ability to manage heavy workload while efficiently and effectively prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines and deliver resultsAbility to manage budgets and keep detailed recordsA working knowledge of and passion for modern and contemporary artBA Degree in related fieldIn addition to an active and progressive work environment, Pace Gallery offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement plans with a company match, flexible spending accounts and commuter benefits.
