Junior Sales Accountant

The Junior Sales Accountant is a member of a collaborative team and helps to support the dealer’s offices. The position takes on a broad range of responsibilities related to accounts receivable, sales and art purchasing, journal entries and reporting/entering cash receipts in multiple currencies; reporting customer receipts to management; reconciliations of trial balance accounts including, sales tax, shipping rebills, artist production and artist payables; reviewing and generating corresponding entries for recognizing sales according to GAAP and industry standard rules; completing sales reports of gallery sales for artists; review of / revisions to customer statements and support to dealer’s office of customer account information.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Review, release and post entries for sales, consignment, advisor commissions, inventory purchases, etc.
  • Generate and review artist’s monthly/quarterly consignor/sales reports
  • Create, and manage rebill invoicing process and work with AP team to track costs to be reimbursed by customers
  • Work closely with colleagues to complete month end closing process, including posting of journal entries, preparation of account analyses
  • Assist with monthly state sales tax review on sales invoices
  • Assist in generating, analyzing, and correctly reporting weekly sales receipts to management
  • Support midyear audit reviews and international year end audits
  • Other ad-hoc projects as needed

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 1+ years of progressive experience in accounting or auditing. Internship acceptable
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with a strong emphasis on combining and using higher functions in Excel including SUMIF, INDEX-MATCH & PIVOT TABLES
  • Team player attitude with excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with all management levels.
  • Strong service provider abilities always ready to support other offices
  • Initiative to solve issues, a collaborative working style and willingness to accept direct accountability
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Enthusiasm for assisting in process improvements.

Estimated compensation for this role is $50,000-$60,000.
