As part of the global HR team, the Human Resources Manager is an experienced HR professional who is an effective business partner as well as a compassionate employee advocate. The HR Manager is responsible for, but not limited to; recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, learning & development, policy communications, employee data and recordkeeping. The HR Manager will partner with the HR Director in the creation and implementation of policies, annual projects and special initiatives as well as oversee the daily workflow of the department and provide guidance and oversight to the HR Coordinator. Success in this role will be measured by the HR Manager’s ability to build relationships and trust with employees and management, maintain an effective level of presence and business literacy in their dedicated departments or regions and ensure HR is compliant, organized, clear and provides exceptional service to the business.

What you'll be doing:
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues as well as conduct effective, thorough, objective and documented investigations.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Work closely with line managers, department heads, leadership team and employees to improve work relationships and build morale.
  • Provide guidance and input to HR Director and leadership team on department/business area restructure, workforce/succession planning and career pathing.
  • Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Identify and implement efficient, effective, equitable and diverse recruiting methods and strategies based on the role, industry standard, and the needs of the organization.
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager and the human resource team during the offer process, identify and recommend salary ranges, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
  • Own all employee life cycle processes and experiences; new hire onboarding/orientation, promotions, terminations.
  • Effectively collaborate and lead internal stakeholders through all employee life cycle processes ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding policy, benefits, PTO, leave, etc.
  • Ensure all employee data is up to date, accurate and in compliance, ADP, org charts, SharePoint, etc.
  • Draft and revise HR policies as well as provide policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Address other duties as assigned. 
What you'll bring:
  • 4 -10 years of Human Resources experience with at least 2 years in a manager level role. 
  • Have significant experience/knowledge in one of the following areas: employee relations, recruitment & retention, diversity, equity & inclusion, compensation, benefits & recognition. 
  • PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP certification preferred
  • Previous work experience in a high design, luxury, artistic, and/or entrepreneurial environment including a family office (gallery or auction house experience would be a plus).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: must be able to interface with all levels of employees in a professional, poised, compassionate, and strategic manner.
  • Ability to show judgment and initiative to accomplish responsibilities independently.
  • Must be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast pace & changing environment
  • Eagerness to “roll up the sleeves” and take a hands-on approach to helping build out the HR team and HR processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Strong knowledge of HRIS systems (familiarity with ADP preferred)
