The Head of Client Relations is responsible for developing client engagement strategies and coordinating dealer offices to engage the relevant audience for our events and programs through developing an event strategy for Pace Gallery in close coordination with the Head of Events, and through managing dealer input and client lists. The ideal candidate will have a background in project development and an excellent art world network. They will have the ability to create relevant guest lists and to activate their network to attend Pace Gallery events. They should be a self-starter, data driven, have strong administrative and organizational skills, and a proven record of accomplishment in project management, sales, and customer service. The postholder should also possess the ability to be client facing.


Communications & Public Engagement

What you'll be doing:
  • Identify key audiences for Pace Gallery’s program and other sales opportunities then craft appropriate events strategies in close coordination with the Head of Events
  • Work with the dealer teams to create guest lists that serve the Pace Gallery events and track engagement and participation
  • Activate personal art world network to attend Pace Gallery events, where appropriate
  • Collaborate on crafting event strategy from Sales perspective
  • Analyze metrics to track success of events and participate in event debriefs to identify future opportunities
  • Create targets for client engagement and own the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) activity tracker
  • Deliver excellent customer service to clients and intermediaries anticipating and exceeding expectations
  • Collaborate on the ideation and implementation of the branded experience that will foster deeper relationships with new and existing clients
  • Identify markets and venues for in person and remote client activations
  • Map client preferences and curate customized styling decks for high potential, returning and emerging clients
  • Capture detailed non-transactional information about client preferences and lifestyle to enhance database
  • Execute reengagement campaigns with former high value clients
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Communication teams to add client insights in decision making
  • Provide client feedback to internal teams and partners to improve the Pace Gallery experience
  • Build positive relationships directly with clients and demonstrate value to all business partners through insight, with a consultative and tailored approach
  • Work with dedicated internal contacts to deliver a consistently high level of support by understanding client needs and demonstrate a comprehensive level of technical knowledge
  • Identify key influencers and decision makers to develop and broaden relationships with key clients
  • Provide excellent client service to ensure artist and client satisfaction and qualitive standards by the gallery are maintained
  • Maintain, monitor and develop records in client database system (CRM (Customer Relationship Management))
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with artists, clients, private collectors, curators, and contemporary art critics

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Marketing, Psychology, Business (or related field)
  • 5+ years of impactful experience in a luxury retail, hospitality, or elite service-related industry
  • 5+ years of productive experience in a Sales or museum development role and proven ability to meet annual sales goal required
  • 5+ years of leading a team
  • 5+ years of proven Art and negotiation experience
  • Strong familiarity with client database systems
  • Must have strong knowledge of the gallery world and of modern and contemporary art
  • Ability to be sales centric and sell events to interested parties and sponsors
  • Ability to perform in a self-directed atmosphere and work collaboratively with cross-departmental stakeholders to achieve outcomes
  • Ability to think strategically, conceptually, and innovatively
  • Proficiency and understanding of virtual meeting and polling platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Ability to learn, adapt and apply modern technologies
  • Meticulous organization in client follow up
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Integrity and respect for client privacy and data protection
  • Ability to travel occasionally
  • Experience presenting ideas and solutions to broader teams and senior leadership
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM tool

  • Strong relationships with artists, clients, collectors, curators, and other keys figures in the arts
  • Demonstrate experience in mobile app usage and integration to increase attendee engagement
  • Expert knowledge of luxury culture and current industry trends
  • Fluency in other languages is desirable
