Artist & Sales Assistant

Pace Gallery is seeking an Artist & Sales Assistant responsible for supporting your Dealer with all sales and artist-related activities including exhibitions, appraisals, loans, consignments, shipping, and general research projects. You will have the opportunity to gain both artist and sales exposure and experience while exercising independent judgement in the above activities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide artist waitlist management including recording interest, tracking placement priorities and historical sales
  • Build artwork records in shared inventory system with Registrar; maintain records for all artist consignments, loans, and donations
  • Manage artist production costs and invoices
  • Track upcoming auction for artists
  • Partner on local shipping coordination with Registrar for framing, studio collections, etc.
  • Facilitate quarterly artist statements; circulate reports to office
  • Liaise with Imaging on artwork photography and videography as well as exhibition installation views
  • Renew reserves twice weekly and track active sales conversations
  • Support client viewings by generating reference materials
  • Manage all client catalogue mailings
  • Source and manage client and artist gifts
  • Support post-sale process through invoicing and shipment
  • Generate fair market appraisals upon request
  • Maintain, monitor, and develop client database
  • Assist with Vice President and artists travel and accommodations
  • Record and submit Vice President's Expenses
  • Maintain office master schedule with shows, projects, and events

What you'll bring:

  • BA Degree in Art History or related field
  • 3-4 years of art gallery and/or art institution experience
  • Dynamic planning ability.
  • Must have excellent multi-tasking and detail-oriented abilities.
  • Ability to work well in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent writing skills with proven writing experience
  • Technologically savvy and Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM tool.
  • Ability to work onsite
