Pace Gallery is seeking a full-time Senior Accountant for our New York based office at 625 West 55th Street. The Senior Accountant is responsible for handling the Gallery’s day-to-day global financial management and accounting functions, including, but not limited to: managing the monthly close process, quarterly consolidation preparation, preparing journal entries, month-end journal account reconciliation, financial/tax audit support, and various account analysis. This role additionally requires close collaboration with the Sales Accounting team and the international locations. 



What you'll be doing:
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, coordinate closely with sales accounting to meet all close calendar deadlines 
  • Prepare various balance sheet account reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by other accounting staff  
  • Prepare quarterly consolidated financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, RE Rollforward, Cash Flow) to review with management 
  • Monitor and manage daily and weekly cash position and future needs. 
  • Prepare detailed balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses to present to Controller and CFO.   
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and provide financial process support across multiple global & local gallery subsidiaries 
  • Research and prepare technical accounting memos and journal entries for non-recurring transactions in accordance with US GAAP. 
  • Assist with Global Year-End financial and tax audits (US, Asia, UK/Geneva) 
  • Prepare and monitor credit agreement covenant and compliance requirements including monthly borrowing base report. 
  • Prepare and monitor local, state and federal business, tax and regulatory filings on global level 
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting and annual review process 
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls 
  • Identify and remediate process inefficiencies to improve accuracy and timeliness 
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports, special projects and deliverables as needed 
What you'll bring:
  • BS Degree in Accounting required; CPA certification required 
  • 4-6 years in public accounting or a supervisory accounting role with financial statement preparation and analysis experience 
  • Must be extremely detailed oriented, with the ability to set priorities and adhere to deadlines in a rapidly changing environment 
  • Experience in managing multiple projects at any given time 
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls  
  • Experience working directly with the business and building cross functional relationships 
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.  
  • Experience using Vlookups, pivot tables required. 
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains a plus
