Last week, Tate Modern inaugurated a new impressive building. The “Switch House” is a 10-storey extension in the shape of a truncated pyramid designed by Swiss architects Herzog and de Meuron. It features a striking combination of raw industrial spaces and refined 21st century architecture. To celebrate the opening on 17 June, Tate presents a series of works from the permanent collection, including pieces by Chinese artists Liu Jianhua and Song Dong. Liu Jianhua’s work “Collected Letters” is now on view at Asian Art Museum, San Francisco. It’s exhibited on the second floor loggia in the main hall.
